President Ben Ali meets with Secretary General of Popular Unity Party (PUP)
Tunis , June 25, 2008 (TunisiaOnline)--Following his meeting with President Ben Ali on Wednesday, Mr Mohamed Bouchiha , the Secretary General of the Popular Unity Party (PUP), said that he had “reaffirmed to the President of the Republic the adherence of principle of his party to the strengthening of political choices and the national consensus witnessed by Tunisia since the Change of November 7,1987”.
He added that the meeting illustrated once more the major importance shown by the Head of State to the activities of political parties, and his strong faith in pluralism and democracy, as well as in his desire of being informed of the concerns of citizens and the aspirations of young people, so as to take them into account in the forging of Tunisia's future.
Mr Bouchiha, also stressed President Ben, Ali's commitment to see all concerned parties take part in the various platforms of elaboration of policies, in order to reinforce the country's capacity to meet the challenges of globalisation.
