Mr Chelbi's statement was made during a workshop on the manufacturing industry, organized within the framework of the Carthage Investment Forum which was held on June 12 and 13, 2008 in Tunis .

Insofar as car parts and airplane components are concerned, exports will witness a five fold increase to reach 1050 million dinars, whereas the rate of subcontracting in the sector, will be raised from 65% in 2005 to 77% by 2015, he also said.

Mr Chelbi also reminded the audience that Tunisia is the southern Mediterranean country that attracts the largest number of European industries (two thousand enterprises).
