Prize of the best media production
on Arab women

The Arab Women Organization announces the opening of candidacies for the "Prize of the best media production on Arab women" (written, electronic and audiovisual media) that promotes the image of women as human beings and as citizens enjoying their rights and fulfilling their duties, in accordance with the values consecrated by the foundations of the Arab civilizational identity and the principles spelled out in international conventions.

Conditions of presentation of candidacies

1. Candidacy to the Prize is open to individuals as well as to institutions;
2. The Prize is awarded without any conditions related to age, gender or geographic belonging;
3. The Prize is awarded without conditions related to the language of the media work presented;
4. The work presented for the Prize must have been produced during the past three years (2003 - 2004 - 2005);
5. The work presented for the Prize must not have won any other prizes.

Value of the Prize

• Prize of the written press : US$ 10,000.
• Prize of the audiovisual and electronic media : US$10,000.

Candidacy presentation procedure

The candidacy application bearing the mention "Prize of the best media production on Arab women" shall be addressed in the name of the General Director of the Arab Women Organization, accompanied by :

a) The work presented for the Prize;

b) CV of individuals, and general presentation of institutions specifying the headquarters, the year of foundations, the nature of activities and the statutes;

c) A note of about 1,000 words specifying the relationship of the work presented with the Prize objectives, which consist particularly in anchoring and promoting the culture of equality of opportunities between the two genders, and addressing women's issues in an objective and balanced way.

N.B. The copies presented for the Prize cannot be restituted, regardless of whether the candidate wins, or does not win, the Prize.

The deadline for submitting candidacies is January 31, 2006. Winners will be officially informed, and winning works will be announced in the media on July 1, 2006.

Prizes will be awarded during an official ceremony to be held in the Republic of Tunisia, on the occasion of the National Day of Tunisian Women celebrated on August 13, 2006.
